Intro to Etching Workshop

Thursday, May 28th & June 4th, 2026 5:30 to 8:30pm each session Mirabo Press is offering a 2-day intensive introduction to etching and aquatint this spring! The first evening will be devoted to learning about etching plates and how to make both line and tonal images on a copper plate. Participants will learn both hard ground and aquatint techniques in the course of putting their own image onto a plate for printing. The second evening will focus primarily on ink, paper preparation, inking and wiping the plates, and printing the plates. There will be time to finish up any work from the first session before printing. No prior experience is required. Attendees must be able to make it to both sessions. (Additional information will be provided to those who register relating to the size of the plates and other suggestions for preparation before the workshop.) All materials and supplies are included in the fee. Instructor: Bob Fleming Seats: limited to 4 participants Cost: $250 per person.
