Exhibition Reception: Friday, September 9, 2022, 6-9pm

Artist Talk at 7:30

Mirabo Press is pleased to announce the opening of Recitations, an exhibition of prints created by M. Yoho Dorsey in collaboration with Mirabo Press.

In this latest work, Dorsey paid tribute to traditional craft, mark-making, and symbology. The etched imagery relates to Egyptian funerary spells that helped the deceased find their way to the afterlife. The prints also feature sashiko style hand-embroidery, a Japanese process of mending used to extend the life of everyday fabrics. The thoughtful marriage of a traditional sewing process that responds to life’s necessities with imagery created to facilitate a transition all living beings face makes for a magical combination.

The labor, between etching and printing copper plates and the thread work, defines the limited number and unique quality of each variable edition. Join us on September 9th for an opening reception and take in these beautiful works in person.
